We have another example with this Search Engine Journal report on a study of Google Tag Manager.
Things I've known for a long time:
• #GTM's server-side version obstructs compliance auditing, raising serious legal concerns. To date, no tool exists to audit server-side GTM.
• Hidden data leaks and arbitrary script injections pose significant security and privacy risks. You should know that already: as soon as you embed 3rd-party scripts on your site, you are at risk.
And a new tidbit:
• #Google IS NOT creating #privacybydesign and by default solutions - be it #GA4 so-called "consent mode" or the simple fact that for GTM, an 'undefined' consent state simply equals to "agree"!
