In 1944, a British engineering student published “The Turbo-Encabulator in Industry” in the students’ journal.
The Turboencabulator was described using a plethora of nonsensical, technical-sounding jargon. This included fictional components like “prefamulated amulite” and “hydrocoptic marzelvanes.” The device was said to be capable of “logarithmic casing” to reduce “side fumbling.” These made-up terms were delivered in a deadpan fashion, mocking the often incomprehensible jargon used in engineering and technical fields.
