"How did you manage to accumulate so much knowledge in your field, and this before all the others who think they are "experts"?! I even told my wife that you are a real expert and that all the letters in the word are capitalized - not just the E." My answer: ▶ Believe: I was a mediocre student in high school but excelled in computer science. I never thought I would get an MBA but graduated with honour. ▶ Luck: In 1986, my internship was on Unix with access to the Internet. I was lucky not to be expelled when I hacked the college computer but ended up helping the sysadmin. Lucky to quit some jobs which forced me out of my comfort zone. Lucky to work with amazing people... not always...but I learned something! ▶ Learn: everywhere I worked, I learned. Knowledge is transferable. The Montreal Stock Exchange was about finance and the stock market. Softimage: high-end computing & 3D animation. BRP: manufacturing, automotive & distribution. Desjardins: insurance. Plus all the clients I consulted for over the years. ▶ Share: sharing knowledge strengthens your own. I can't say that enough! My academic background is atypical. Former managers would say I was difficult to manage. I think outside the box. I don't accept the status quo. I sometimes push my ideas a little too far! :)
