"I would love to invite you as a thought leader to get featured in a guest post/e-book/podcast."
Yes, thank you. I'm flattered. I really am.
But I'm getting too many of these requests. So I have to decline.
I've made a decision to only contribute when I actually have experience with the product/brand, or have a relationship with the company in a consulting or startup advisory role.
You might say I should accept. After all, it's "good karma", it's "paying it forward", etc. But why would I spend my valuable time, experience and expertise marketing a company without any compensation other than fame and glory?
Just as I would turn down a free lunch in exchange for free consulting, I have to be rigorous and turn down these requests.
How do you feel about this? What is your approach?
P.S. I'm still #opentowork in a #martech, #privacytech #SaaS leadership position - imagine if you could tap into my experience and expertise!
