My dear American friends - I feel so sorry for you! In fact, I feel sorry for the World! Canada has universal health care and affordable education. We don't need guns to protect ourselves and we trust our police, in fact, we respect life so much that we don't have death penalty and we are for allowing terminally ill people to leave their loved ones with dignity. We give women facing the hard decision of abortion the freedom of choice. We welcome trade with reasonable partners, we act globally responsibly when we have to fight evil and help those in needs, and we act to protect our environment. We see women as equals of men, we see humanity in welcoming refugees, we accept love is not a matter of gender. We also recognize all of the above might not be perfect - but those are our collective values as Canadians. Those things are all the opposite of the 47th President who was elected. The American people have made a decision that will impact History and the World in the worse negative ways. I know many of my American friends said, seriously or not, they would relocate to Canada if Trump was elected. I sincerely wish you good luck - you'll need it. And if you need my help, let me know. As for me, I will stand by my word. From now on, I will seriously consider the consequences of any trip to the US. There are a number of countries in the world where I'm not comfortable traveling - now the Great United States of America, the Land of the Free where the American Dream was possible, is a thing of the past.
