Since I've shifted my career focus to privacy, I've seen some noticeable changes in my LinkedIn network.
Some people think I'm just too "fundamentalist" in my positions and have "disappeared"...
Others don't support my opinions in public for fear of a negative impact on their jobs, but share their views, criticisms and ideas in private communications. And that's great!
What's even more inspiring is that I've been able to expand my network with professionals who embrace open and constructive debate on these crucial issues. A case in point was my discussions with Daniel Côté, MPM, Ph. D. candidate, with whom I had another super-interesting exchange on the theme of technology and privacy (the subject of his thesis.)
After all, in the end, the true value of a network is not measured by its size, but by the quality of the exchanges and ideas shared.
