Years ago, in the early days of the web, I attended conferences like Internet World in Los Angeles. Those were the golden days of "merch" – I often needed an extra suitcase to carry all the t-shirts and goodies from pioneers like Netscape and AOL. We don't see that as much these days – or maybe it's just been too long since I last attended a conference! (Psst... I'm still available for speaking engagements!) Anyway, I can't remember the last time Google or the GA team gave me anything, even after two decades of advocacy and as one of the few recognized Google Product Strategy Experts (a title I’ve since moved on from). But this post isn't about a bygone era or Google Analytics... Although some might see a correlation... This post is about the product and the team at Piwik PRO. Their solution now rivals GA4, with excellent onboarding and documentation. Their communication about the roadmap and new features is clear (something Google always miserably failed!). They’ve rallied experts around them, many of whom, like me, were GA advocates, and have nurtured a rapidly growing community of users. The team at Piwik Pro is setting new standards in the analytics space. Their commitment to clarity, community, and innovation is impressive and inspiring.
